On January 6 a new edition of Games Done Quick began, a biannual videogame marathon that raises money for charitable causes. The proceeds from the first event of 2019 will go to the Cancer Prevention Foundation, taking place at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center, just outside the civic center of Washington DC (United States).
Games Done Quick is a charity organization where volunteers and community members to complete different video games in the shortest time possible. The event is always broadcasted live through their official platforms and all the monetary donations made by the spectators are all donated to a charity that the organisers choose each time.
Next Sunday January 13 will be the last day of the event, with some big game titles in the gaming world like Super Metroid or Super Mario Odyssey. More than 100 different titles are set to be taken on this time around, with the oldest and most notable being: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Tomb Raider II, Mario Kart 64, Michael Jackson's Moonwalker and many more.
