Magic: The Gathering and many more classic games
Next Friday, January 18, PAX South will take place in Texas, USA. The festival is all about gamers celebrating gaming culture. San Antonio will be full of remakes of classic games, live tournaments, and conferences, as well as a wide range of games, live shows, and some virtual reality experiences.
This time, the biggest games in the world like League of Legends, Clash Royale, or Fornite won't be taking center stage and will give way to some other titles that aren't normally the first that spring to mind when you think of esports. Among them will be Pokémon Stadium, Zelda, Mario Kart, Puyo Puyo Tetris, Duck Game, Minecraft and Dragon Ball FighterZ to name a few.
Traditionally, PAX has been home to much more than just video games, with tabletop and card games being showcased. PAX South has already announced its schedule, and the wildly popular Magic: The Gathering will be one of the featured games running daily competitions with a total of 47 events over the weekend.
The event is held six time a year all over North America and Australia, with the next coming at the end of March, over in Boston, USA.
