The third annual Barcelona Games World convention blew away all previous records with the venue taking in over 138,000 at the Fira Barcelona venue on the city’s iconic road Gran Via. The event beat its own record that it set with last year’s show, which more than 135,000 people attended.
“Barcelona Games World has successfully surpassed the goal alongside a change in dates and venue. Tickets were sold out for both Saturday and Sunday again. And for the third consecutive year, we registered an attendance record.” said the fair’s Director, Josep Antoni Llopart.
He also wanted to give an important insight regarding the future of the event, “We are convinced the fair will keep growing in the future and confident that brands will take advantage of the show.” In this third edition, a total of 194 companies were present at the Barcelona Games World, where more than 80 activities took place across four days.
Dozens of video games’ developers took this opportunity to present their titles, including Namco Bandai, Blizzard, Capcom, Disney, Nintendo, PlayStation, Riot Games, Square Enix, Warner Bros Interactive and Epic Games. Some of the highlights of the show in-cluded Kingdom Hearts III, Days Gone, Forza Motorsport, Jump Force and Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
